Q. What is Postdreamer ?
A. Postdreamer.com is a website dedicated to the post production and VFX industry. There is 3 kind of membership: Individuals, companies and film schools. A whole range of services is available to all members including finding a job or staff for your company, finding business premises or partners, housing network between members, watching latest VFX work ..etc
Q. Who can register on Postdreamer?
A. Only professionals and students working in the Postproduction industry can register on Postdreamer. It is also open to post production facilities and film schools.
Q. Who are the people behind Postdreamer ?
A. Postdreamer has been launched in April 2008 by a Flame artist based in London and his partner, a former business manager. Our company is independant and not part of any holding company. Our team includes a company director, a business manager, a commercial officer, a technical supervisor and 3 developpers.

Q. Do I have to pay to become a member ?
A. No. Becoming a member whether your are an individual, a company or a school, is free of charge. Always.
Q. How can I create my history reel online?
A. It is very easy and useful. Go to the videos you have worked on and add your name to the credits (at the bottom of the page of each video). You can of course upload your own video and credit yourself in it. Your profile will then contain the list of jobs you have worked on. This is simply the best and most effective showreel.
Q. What do you do to protect people privacy?
A. We feel very responsible about everyone privacy. Your personal email address is never visible in your profile. Postdreamer is a tool for professionals and will remain that way. We may occasionally send newsletters to our members and that can be disabled in your preferences if you do not wish to be contacted. If you wish to remove your account permanently with instant effect, email us at webmaster@postdreamer.com
Q. What services are free of charge ?
A. All our services are currently free of charge.
Q. How do I know if the adverts are up to date ?
A. Most of our adverts expire automatically after 1 month. Those who stay 3 months, 6 months or 1 year are designed for permanent advertising such as Freelancers, short term/holiday accommodations or sub-contracting companies.
Q. Why do you have a housing section? Are you some kind of estate agent ?
A. No. We know nothing about properties but we think selling, renting, sharing or exchanging houses privately with people from the post-production industry is a great way of skipping estate agents. You deal in confidence and save lots of money in various estate agents fees.
Q. What sort of videos can I upload on your website ?
A. Our video section is designed to show creative and VFX work. They are going to be seen by professionals. In your account, you can upload your personal showreel. For the community they are commercials, TV idents, Graphic design, Music videos or short films. We regret that feature films materials are forbidden due to copyrights on such materials. Needless to say that your holiday movies should go on more appropriate websites. We reserve the right to remove any materials we think are not suitable (please see our term of use for more information)
Q. What kind of video files can I upload ? What are the limitations ?
A. Our video encoding tool accept most video formats ( AVI, MPEG, DIVX, MOV, FLV, DV, MPG, VOB, MP4, MPG, FLC, H264 and more. We actually accept 102 different video formats).The file you can upload is limited to 200MB.
Q. What are the most optimised settings for my videos ?
A. Videos are resized and shown on Postdreamer at 600X400 pixels but we recommend 720X576 (4/3) or 720X405 (16/9) for your original materials. Please make sure they are at their best possible quality before starting the upload . H264, AVI (divx) are good codecs for encoding your video. We accept 16/9 or 4/3 ratios so your video will always be shown at native format.
Q. My computer doesn't play the videos?
A. As we are using the new H264 codec for flash videos, you may have to download the latest flash player. click here to download. If you see the video but playback feels jerky, your computer or graphic card may be a bit old or slow. H264 flash format is processor hungry.
Q. I want to terminate my membership on Postdreamer?
A. To unsubscribe from Postdreamer, simply email at webmaster@postdreamer for immediate effect.
Q. I don't speak english. Habla espanol ? Parlez-vous Francais ?
A. Unfortunately, we only provide english as mixing languages in adverts is proving too limiting in the searches. That said, you can also watch our quick video tour in French and Spanish.

Q. Why should we register our company on Postdreamer ?
A. When registering your company, you will appear in our searchable database seen by thousand of members and potential new clients. Once you have registered with us, you can also start using our range of services including looking for staff, uploading your work, looking for partners and premises..etc.
Q. What services are free of charge ?
A. All our services are currently free of charge.
Q. What makes postdreamer different to other recruiting websites.
A. We are only serving the post-production industry and our tools have been designed to meet these specific needs. We are artists working in this industry for more than 15 years. We know which piece of kit are being used, what are the different positions and how hard it is to find staff. We aim to provide a true alternative to word of mouth. We have developed a great deal of new tools to help your searches.

Q. We are a large company. Can different persons operate our account.
A. We have created a multi user system within one company account. The person who created the account originally is the "administator". When you create a user, this new person share the company login and can publish adverts. All applications for that advert are then directed to him. The administrator will receive a copy of every adverts published on the company's behalf.
Q. We need to recruit a large amount of staff. What are our options?
A. You can choose to publish an advert for more many jobs using one form. It is called multi-job.
